Definition

Optional insurance that protects a home and its contents against risks such as fire, flooding, theft and glass breakage.

Home insurance differs from DASK: it is optional, its coverage depends on the policy, and earthquake cover is provided only as additional cover. Separate sums insured are set for the building and the contents.

Building insurance for the whole building also comes into play: the Condominium Ownership Law lists insuring the entire main property against fire among the manager's duties; the premium is a common expense.

Liability insurance for damage that elevators and common facilities may cause to third parties is also a frequent choice in sites.
